Byron Scott was never a fan of the Lakers’ young roster. He publicly blasted them in the media and was notoriously fickle about giving them consistent minutes. With Kobe Bryant on a retirement tour it seemed like Scott was more interested in trying to give Bryant a happy farewell rather than develop his youth. Eventually, Scott was fired and replaced by a more development minded coach in Luke Walton.
It’s been a year since Scott was removed as Lakers coach, but his opinions about their young roster do not appear to have changed.
